The garden is a gym! I am exhausted!

This part of the garden I was determined to get put to bed before winter, and today was pretty warm and not raining! So I took advantage. The sad part is the biggest mess is from the spoon tomatoes that I didn’t harvest, and from ground cherry plants. SO MANY. I actually went back through on my hands and knees to pick up as many of the fruits as I could so I won’t have to pull Quite as many baby ground cherry plants. Leaving the ones that are in ‘their row’ though.

I also picked quite a few carrots. I know they just get sweeter with the cold, but…once the ground freezes, it is rather difficult to dig them up. A lady at the store asked me if I was going to can them. I still have a jar of them on the shelf from last year. I love them fresh. Don’t love them so much canned and really don’t like them frozen. I look forward to freeze drying some. I hope they are going to be wonderful.

They sure don’t start off clean!
Ahh there we go

Little buddy was okay with helping for about an hour and a half. Then….it was a battle. My husband helped out and played with him long enough for me to get quite a bit done.
